iOS 4.0 - 4.0.2 Jailbreak/Unlock - Redsn0w

Before you start:

Download iOS 4 for iPod Touch 2g – download link

Download iOS 4 for iPhone 3g - download link

1) Update to latest version of iTunes 

2) Update iDevice firmware to 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2

3) Download RedSno0w 0.9.5 b5-3 (windows)
MAC VERSION HERE

Open RedSn0w, you will need WinRaR.

1) No matter what firmware you have on your device, point RedSn0w to the original 4.0 firmware.

2) Redsn0w will now verify your .ipsw, if it does not work try re-downloading and make sure your pointing it to the original iOS4.0 firmware.

3) Click Next, now wait for the preparing jailbreak data box to finish.

4) Now select the boxes you want, remember to select multitasking if you want the full function of the iOS 4.0.

5) Click Next after your iDevice is off and plugged in.

6) Follow the instructions to enter DFU mode, if you successfully enter DFU mode it will complete the jailbreak on your own, your screen will flash white, you will hear some beeping and then you will get some pictures on your device. Just wait for your device to re-boot.

7) To unlock your iPhone you will need to open Cydia, next tap "Manage", then "Sources", next open the source "repo666.ultrasn0w.com", Open "ultrasn0w" and install, you will need to restart your device when completed.
